Beat-Herder Festival 2026 : 20th Anniversary

Beatherder festival
The team's back again

Can you actually believe it? We are back again! If you’ve been following the Acid Rain journey, you know that Beat-Herder isn't just a festival to us, it’s home. After the absolute madness of 2025, the countdown for 2026 has officially reached fever pitch. This year is extra special because it marks twenty years of Beat-Herder. That is two decades of pure madness in the Ribble Valley.

For those of you who’ve joined the family because of our previous vlogs, we see you. Seeing you lot in the fields last year was easily the highlight of our weekend. This year, the full squad ,Will and Alyssa, are heading back to the Farm from July 16th to 19th to see how they top a two-decade legacy. Watch our video from last year below!

What’s On the Menu for 2026? 🔊

The lineup for the 20th anniversary is looking absolutely mental. We’ve got some proper dance royalty coming to the hills. Faithless are doing a live set on the Main Stage which is guaranteed to be a spiritual experience. If you’re into your bass, Wilkinson and Sigma are set to blow the speakers apart.

We’re also buzzing to see Groove Armada and DJ Seinfeld taking over the Toil Trees. There’s honestly nothing like being under those fairy lights in the woods when the bass drops. Other massive shouts go to Roni Size, herder veterans Utah Saints, and the legend that is David Rodigan. And of course, it wouldn't be Beat- Herder without a bit of K-Klass and Chav Brass are back again to keep the northern spirit alive!

What We’re Buzzing For: The Will & Alyssa Take 🎤

Every year we find something new to obsess over. Last year it was the Working Men’s Club and the pure comedy of the talent show. This year, we have our eyes on a few specific things. Word on the farm is there are some hidden installments and secret sets planned to celebrate the big birthday. After the Geese madness last year, we are also ready to see what the 2026 fancy dress theme brings out of you lot. The creativity in the Ribble Valley is unmatched. This year is the letter I - Iron? Indiana Jones? Ice-cream?

WILL:

Will getting recognised as per... to Alyssa's distaste

Has it really been a year? Two years since my first visit? I can remember it; the ‘knowing gleam’ in the eyes of the festival patrons that I described initially and then gained for myself my second year. Things have changed so much since then. Since last year, we opened our own music venue, The Bag Factory, in Salford and it has completely taken over our lives. Gone are the days of going to any gig we could to interview artists and punters alike. I’ve been to a record low number of gigs this year if you don’t count the ~5 events per week at Bag Factory. It’s a double edged sword, getting into the business. Yet, there was always a constant dawn on the horizon. There’s a field up north and it’s calling my name, ready to welcome me back…

Beat-Herder! I am so excited to be back.

If you’re familiar with our coverage or the festival in general then I’ll be preaching to the Parish Church choir when I say it’s a truly special place. I feel like an imposter with my limited Beat-Herder caps in my belt but it really has become a second home. I look forward to it pretty much as soon as I leave and it won’t be long before we finally return.

What’s on my radar this year? Well, Born On Road is gonna be an excellent way to start the festival in the ring on Thursday. Their recent Shogun Sessions was sublime and their selection is feeling remarkably fresh at a time when popular rave music is becoming more formulaic than ever. Expect DnB with hints of jungle and dub. I think they’re an excellent choice to kick things off and I expect the ring to be packed out as they will have wide appeal to the early birds.

For the weekend at large it’s gonna be a noughties resurgence with Faithless and Sigma blasting some anthems. You don’t need me to tell you it’s gonna be a fun time and it’s not something I would go out of my way to see so I’m very grateful to have them at the festival and it will be a wonderful crowd. I can already hear Insomnia ringing in my ears…

A potentially rogue pick from me is Beat-Herder’s got talent. I missed it my first time around but caught the entire thing last year and it was fantastic. It encapsulates everything the festival is about; community, humour and uniqueness. I’m honestly so excited to see what sublime (or not so sublime) talent gets up to be ripped apart by Judge Mental.

Finally, my number one most anticipated artist is Samurai Breaks. I had the pleasure of experiencing him and talking to him at a venue called Kable Club in Manchester (which is sadly no longer with us) and I was delighted to find out he played a surprise set at Gay Paris last year! Gay Paris is my favourite stage of any festival I’ve been to and hearing Samurai Breaks through those rigs was an absolute pleasure. It’s probably one of my biggest rave memories to date and I can’t wait to be back.

On a personal note, Beat-Herder this year brings with it a very special occasion. It’s my one year anniversary! My partner and I got together on the Saturday of the festival last year after meeting at our music venue and Samurai Breaks was the cherry on top of our first night skanking together. She is absolutely wonderful and I can’t wait to be back where it all began. Let’s herd ‘em up!

LYS:

Beat-Herder
Say hey to Lys this year!

Last year, Beat-Herder set the bar incredibly high. I am so excited to be back at it again and the line-up this time around does not disappoint. There are a few sets I’m really looking forward to but I’ll start with the obvious, Wilkinson - so many huge tracks under his belt which are bound to go off on the main stage (I’m not a DnB head just yet - but the man is good). It’ll be great to see Mark XTC again after the team interviewed him at Parklife last year - hearing him at the Fortress will feel like a full-circle moment.

Utah Saints is probably my most anticipated set; they’ve got a nostalgic vibe that fits Beat-Herder perfectly. I’ve heard about how well they read a crowd and the Ring stage should give them plenty of material to work with.

I’ve also been diving into some of the lineup and discovered Olive F, who is quickly becoming a regular on my playlists. She has a very high-energy groovy sound which is perfect for Toil Trees. I think I’m leaning more towards house than the rest of my group this year, but I’m fully embracing it! How could you not with artists like Cinthie on the lineup?! Berlin Queen of House…Yes. Yes please.

We are all so excited to be back and you should check out last year's video to see what we got up to last year at this gorgeous festival! We will be speaking to the people who run the festival behind the scenes to find out how they’ve kept this DIY, independent spirit alive for twenty years without selling out. We want to know what it takes to build this wonderland from the ground up every single summer.

Beat-Herder isn't just about the names on the poster. It’s about the bond between the punters that lasts a lifetime. Whether it’s your first time or your tenth, you’re part of the furniture the second you walk through the gates.

See You At The Front! ❤️

We have already got the microphones charged and the cameras ready. We want to hear your stories, see your outfits, and dance in the mud with you. If you see the Acid Rain team wandering around the Toil Trees or grabbing a pint at the Working Men’s Club, please come and say hey!

The 2025 video took a while to edit, but for the 20th anniversary, we are planning something even more legendary. Be ready for the blood, sweat, and happy tears. Beat-Herder 2026 is going to be one for the history books. Let’s fucking have it! 🙌

Are you heading to the Ribble Valley this year, and if so, which stage are we most likely to find you at?

As always, we will see you at the front!
